Whimbrel

On Sunday we had been out on a Padstow Sea Safari, (we saw some dolphins, Shags, Cormorants, Fulmars and a new one for me, a European Storm Petrel, on our way home we stopped in Wadebridge, grabbed some lunch, dried off and headed off for a walk down the Camel Trail. The weather was good. Shame the tide wasn’t a little higher, but it was a good test for the new R7 & 800mm Lens.

Just for fun – I asked ChatGPT to expand upon my writing above – here’s what it had to say!

As the sun painted the canvas of the sky with hues of gold and blue, our Sunday unfolded into a day of adventure and discovery. The call of the sea beckoned, leading us to embark on a Padstow Sea Safari – a voyage of both exploration and awe. Nature’s theater welcomed us with a flourish, offering glimpses of its marvelous cast: dolphins gracefully arcing through the waves, Shags and Cormorants poised upon their rocky perches, and Fulmars soaring on the ocean breeze. Amidst this avian congregation, a star emerged – a European Storm Petrel, a revelation for my eager eyes. Its delicate form and ethereal presence added a new note to the symphony of the sea, a melody that resonated in the chambers of my memory.

With our senses satiated by the sea’s offerings, we steered our course toward Wadebridge, a picturesque town that beckoned with promises of culinary delight. Lunch became a respite, a moment to savor the flavors of both the cuisine and the day’s experiences. As we dried off from the ocean’s embrace, a sense of contentment settled upon us – a quiet acknowledgment of the rich tapestry of moments woven into our journey.

Energized by our reprieve, we embarked on another escapade, this time down the fabled Camel Trail. Nature’s beauty unfurled before us like a scroll, each step a revelation of the landscape’s intricacies. The weather, a willing companion, graced us with its benevolence, casting a warm glow upon our path. Though the tide may have chosen to reveal its treasures at a lower ebb, the journey was no less rich in rewards.

And then, a moment to test the mettle of both equipment and photographer alike – the new R7 and 800mm Lens. Like a virtuoso stepping onto the stage, I set out to capture the essence of the world around me. The lens extended its gaze, a window into realms previously unexplored. Through its glass, the details of nature’s design came alive – the intricate contours of a leaf, the graceful arch of a distant hill, and the fleeting expressions of the birds that graced our day. The R7 and its companion lens were more than tools; they were envoys of vision, capturing moments with an intimacy that spoke of the connection between the artist and the art.

As the day drew to a close, our hearts were filled with the resonances of the sea, the flavors of a shared meal, the footprints left on the Camel Trail, and the snapshots captured by the lens. Each experience was a thread, woven into the tapestry of this Sunday sojourn – a day that began with the promise of the sea and ended with the realization of moments, both familiar and new, that would forever echo within our memories.

  1. Much prefer your own words Steve . This is the most cliched soaked writing I have seen in ages. Even a holiday brochure would surely be ashamed of such guff! But interesting so thanks for sharing.
BTW – Is that a curlew?

    1. Thanks Jo,
You may have noticed, I’ve not let ChatGPT rewrite my entire site. It’s worth noting there are various different commands that will result in less obvious AI written output. It’s worth playing with if writing isn’t your forte!

I believe its a Whimbrel, though I’m still learning.
