19th September 2021 – Sker

Whilst I'[m a reasonably keen “Birdwatcher”, I’m not a super fanatical “Twitcher” who would travel around the country at a moments notice to see a “new” bird.
However, if we’re travelling somewhere away from home, then I do like to see what birds have been spotted in the area we are travelling to. I was quite excited therefore to discover that it wouldn’t be far out of our way to go and try to see a Hoopoe that had been reported at Sker Farm – near Porthcawl in South Wales.
Finding the bird wasn’t hard, as there was a gang of thirty bird watchers with telescopes and long camera lenses!
