Having a whole week off of work, we headed off to Swanage to explore the Isle of Purbeck area. and slightly further afield. The one place I really wanted to visit was RSPB Arne, its on the shore of Poole Harbour and home to numerous species of birds – though was originally purchased to support the Dartford Warbler (Which we didn’t see! – but it was pretty windy and not ideal conditions)
we were really impressed with watching the Eurasian Spoonbills (We’d seen the Royal Spoonbills in New Zealand -but they are different species)
Details of RSPB Arne can be found here – https://www.rspb.org.uk/days-out/reserves/arne
I’m looking forward to a return visit when its a bit warmer/brighter.
