We’d been to Tavistock and were heading to Plymouth to do some shopping, so diverted to Saltram to get a coffee in the National Trust Cafe and have a wander to see what birds we could see.
There’s always a number of ducks on the Duck pond outside the cafe – So we sat at a table and I snapped away – Lovely! Then we headed off downhill to the river, watched a Great Crested Grebe catch a fish, photographed a Curlew that was ringed as part of the Dartmoor Recovery Project (More information from here)

Walking back up the car we could hear the screeching from several Ring Necked Parakeets, and finally after much pointing from Mrs Beazley – I saw one.  He was feasting on Yew Tree berries – lovely to see him though.
